March 19, 2011 (Kearny, NJ) West Hudson Commuters have an additional means of access to mass transit and can go Green while doing it. The Hudson County Transportation Management Association is running a commuter shuttle from the Arlington Bus Loop in North Arlington (just north of the Belleville Turnpike) on Ridge Road then along Kearny Avenue to the Harrison Path Station on South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd.

The idea behind the project funded in part by Federal Transportation Grants is to reduce traffic and carbon emissions and to provide a transit service to an area in need. The Kearny Shuttle will run from the Arlington Loop in North Arlington starting at 6:20 a.m. and continuing at 6:55 a.m., 7:35 a.m., 8:20 a.m., 9:00 a.m. The return trips from the Harrison Path in the evening will be at 4:30 p.m., 5:10 p.m., 5:50 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Pick-ups in the morning and drop offs in the afternoon will only be at NJ Transit bus stops. The bus will not however pick up passengers along its route when returning in the afternoons.

March 30, 2011 (Kearny, NJ) Film maker Vic Losick has released his documentary film, In God We Teach, which covers the events surrounding the controversial statements made by Kearny High School Teacher David Paszkiewicz in a history class that lead to intense discussions on KearnyOnTheWeb about separation of church and state.

A preview of the film is available on the film's website, In God We Teach. The website however does not have a listing of screenings as of this article. The preview is interesting and captures some of the tension between the Mathew LaClair supporters and the David Paszkiewicz supporters. KOTW wonders if it will receive any credit for its role in fostering discussions on the separation of church and state. Those discussions are still available on our website. To view those discussion please visit our Discussion Board. Please expand your search criteria to include items from 2006 (the year that the events took place) to view the discussion threads.
